Littleton Public Schools (LPS) is a premier school district located a few miles south of downtown Denver. Its slogan, “Big enough to serve you; small enough to know you” is an accurate portrayal of the district’s culture.
From our award-winning PreK through Grade 12 schools, to our charter schools, to our alternative education programs, you will find a school that feels like home and where you can be healthy and happy. With a bold plan for the future – check out our Strategic Vision – just imagine your possibilities.
You trust us, and we don’t take that lightly. We do the big things well. We have an incredibly supportive community, exceptional generosity from our taxpayers, world-class education, competitive extracurriculars and an unmatched dedication to K–12 mental health support.
Those things all matter very much. We also understand that school is personal. It's important that you come to a school and feel accepted and celebrated, have an outlet for your passions and interests, and know that as you grow, we will too.
The LPS 100 Percent Goal, 100 percent of LPS students will graduate prepared for meaningful postsecondary opportunities, sounds official and serious – because it is. But the meaning is simple: no matter who you are, you have a place in LPS. A place where we’re committed to you – 100 percent of you.
Whether you’re looking for accelerated learning, special education support, or a well-rounded school experience that nurtures your specific interests and talents, LPS is your home.
Littleton Public Schools serves 28 square miles and includes the majority of the City of Littleton, Town of Columbine Valley, and portions of the municipalities of Bow Mar, Centennial, Greenwood Village and the City of Englewood.
With about 14,000 students, LPS offers a comprehensive education from preschool through Grade 12. Students attend ten elementary schools, four middle schools, three high schools, several alternative programs, a central preschool and two charter schools. LPS is the preferred choice for thousands of students who live outside district boundaries and choose to open-enroll at LPS schools.
Littleton Public Schools provides free, full-day kindergarten. Additionally, all LPS elementary schools offer tuition-based before- and after-school childcare.
“A Destination District” for students and staff, LPS teachers are caring professionals who devote their time and talent to helping each and every student achieve to his or her highest potential. LPS teachers average 12 years of experience and 79 percent have masters degrees or above.
With a history of close community ties, voters have passed every bond and mill levy election LPS Boards of Education have placed on the local ballot over the years. This kind of support demonstrates the legacy this community leaves for future generations of LPS students.
A major strength of LPS is the commitment and involvement of its staff and community. Schools have business partners and parent and community volunteers donate about 200,000 hours of their time to the district every year. The Littleton Public Schools Foundation (LPSF) has provided $6.5 million to LPS schools.
With a continued commitment to excellence and postsecondary workforce readiness, Littleton Public Schools offers a premier education in a safe and community-oriented environment.
